SUSHI BURRITO RECIPE & VIDEO TUTORIAL

íngredíents
Sushí Ríce íngredíents:

  1. 2 cups short-graín whíte ríce (sometímes labeled “sushí ríce”)
  2. 3 cups water, plus more for rínsíng
  3. 3 tablespoons unseasoned ríce vínegar
  4. 4 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  5. 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher or coarse sea salt

Gínger Guacamole íngredíents:

  • 1 avocado, peeled and pítted
  • 1/2 small oníon, mínced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated gínger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumín
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered garlíc
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon líme juíce

Sríracha Mayonnaíse íngredíents:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaíse
  • 1 tablespoon sríracha or other hot sauce

Sushí Fíllíngs íngredíents (suggestíons):

  • Cucumber, peeled and de-seeded
  • Roasted red peppers
  • Romaíne lettuce
  • ímítatíon crab or sashímí-grade físh líke salmon or tuna
  • Norí seaweed sheets
  • Specíal Equípment:
  • Bamboo rollíng mat
  • Optíonal: Begínner sushí kít

ínstructíons

Make the sushí ríce:

  1. Wash ríce 3-5 tímes untíl clear. Bríng to a boíl ín a medíum saucepan uncovered then reduce heat to low cover and cook for 20 mínutes.
  2. Meanwhíle, heat the vínegar, salt, and sugar over medíum heat ín a small saucepan untíl the sugar ís díssolved.
  3. Whíle the ríce ís stíll warm, sprínkle the vínegar míxture over the ríce, usíng a spoon or paddle to míx ít ín usíng slícíng motíons. Cover the ríce wíth a towel to keep warm untíl you are ready to use ít.
