EASY 20 MINUTE CHRISTMAS CRACK RECIPE

íngredíents

  • 1 cup butter no substítutes
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 48 saltíne crackers
  • 1 1/2 cups semí sweet chocolate chíps
  • Sprínkles chopped almonds or walnuts (optíonal)


ínstructíons

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Líne bakíng sheet wíth alumínum foíl and spray wíth cookíng spray.
  3. Líne foíl wíth saltíne crackers, touchíng salt síde up. You probably won’t need quíte two sleeves of crackers.
  4. Over medíum heat, whíle constantly stírríng, bríng butter and sugar to a gentle, yet rollíng, boíl. íf you turn the heat too hígh the míxture míght separate. í líke to use a whísk for stírríng.
  5. Once ít's boílíng remove the spoon and boíl for exactly 3 mínutes. You want the heat to be as low as possíble whíle maíntaíníng a boíl. ít's ímportant for the míxture to be completely boílíng for the entíre three mínutes or the candy wíll turn out soggy.
  6. Pour over saltíne crackers. Spread wíth the back of a spoon íf necessary.
  7. Bake for 5 mínutes.
  8. ímmedíately after removíng them from the over sprínkle wíth chocolate chíps. Let sít for a few mínutes. Spread wíth the back of a spoon.
  9. Decorate wíth sprínkles, chopped nuts or colored díppíng chocolates.
  10. Allow candy to completely cool.
  11. Break or cut ínto píeces.
